In a smart shrimp automatic feeder, the DC gear motor is the core actuator that enables precise, automated, and energy-efficient feed distribution.

Command from Smart Controller:
A micro controller or mobile app sends a signal based on a programmed schedule, sensor input (like shrimp activity or water quality), or remote control.

Motor Activation:
The DC gear motor receives power (typically from a battery or solar system) and begins to rotate at a controlled low speed due to the integrated gearbox.

Torque Amplification:
The gearbox converts the high-speed, low-torque output of the DC motor into low-speed, high-torque rotation, which is ideal for driving feeding mechanisms like:

Controlled Feed Dispensing:
The motor rotates the feed-dispensing system to scatter pellets over a designated area. In smart feeders, the motor may also be pulsed or run in intervals for precise dosing to avoid overfeeding.

Position Holding & Shutoff:
After dispensing, the motor stops. The gear mechanism helps hold its position and prevents backflow or accidental movement—thanks to the gear’s natural self-locking effect.

Feedback or Monitoring (Optional):
Smart feeders may include sensors that provide feedback on motor status, rotation angle, or feed levels to optimize feeding schedules.
